1:45 PM -- The 3G iPhone is on its way, AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) CEO Randall Stephenson says.

Not that he's the final authority, but when asked about the matter during a Churchill Clubevent last night, he didn't balk much.

"I don't think Jobs has announced it yet, but he'll have it next year," he said.

How about the price? "I don't know. Steve'll tell you what the price of the phone is."

As for the rest of Stephenson's talk -- which was better than I'd expected -- we're working on a story and photo set now. Like AT&T's U-verse, it's, uh... taking longer than expected.
