BOTHELL, Wash. -- Teltone Corporation (Pink Sheets:TLTN - News), a leading provider of telecommunications test equipment, today announced availability of the TSP Edge EL, a low-cost telephony test platform based on its full-featured, award-winning TSP Edge. The Edge EL presents a new value proposition for companies involved in performance testing of telecom products and services, enabling them to obtain only the test capabilities they need at an extremely affordable price point.

The Edge EL offers the most popular features of Teltone's TSP (Telecom Test Platform) and supports testing out of the box. Features include a dual T1/E1/PRI hardware module, Ethernet connectivity, internal wav file playback, signal analysis, and detailed event logs. Built on Teltone's proven TSP technology, the Edge EL has the same exterior connectors and intuitive control GUI as the Edge allowing for easy setup and extensive programmability without a steep learning curve. The Edge EL answers the need for an easy to use, economical solution for simple bulk call generation for quality of service, standards validation, and load testing.

At $2495, the new model (bundled with the digital interface) will quickly achieve ROI. For an added $1795, the unit can be upgraded to the full-featured TSP Edge when a company's needs grow. Customers lose nothing by starting with the EL and stepping up to the TSP Edge when justified by demand.

"The TSP Edge EL gives companies an affordable load testing entry or expansion point," commented Debra Griffith, Teltone president and CEO. "We want to make sure that manufacturers and developers can cost-effectively test their telecom systems to the max, and when there is a demand, they can move up to our more sophisticated test solution, the TSP Edge. The Edge EL avoids stranding users with a dead-end solution -- it gives them a path to increase their capabilities as their needs grow."
