Telco Systems and BATM win $5 million contract to supply IP network equipment to Hanaro Telecom

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Telco Systems, a BATM Company and a leader in network edge technology and IP switching platforms, today announced that BATM Advanced Communications (LSE: BVC), a leader in IP networking has won a contract to supply IP networking equipment to Hanaro Telecom in South Korea. The contract is initially estimated to be worth more than $5 million. Telco Systems and BATM will start to ship equipment for delivery before the end of this year and will continue in 2002. Hanaro Telecom is a leading provider of broadband Internet access bundled with voice telephony, multimedia content and corporate data services. It is the only CLEC in South Korea licensed to provide voice and data services and to build its own network. Telco Systems and BATM will supply Hanaro with the T-Series product line of advanced IP routing switches with high-speed traffic shaping. The equipment will enable connection of any number of interactive users over advanced mixed fiber/copper metropolitan IP networks.
