Tdsoft Announces VODSL Solution

HANOVER, Germany -- Following its successful Voice over Next Generation Access (VoNGA) program, Tdsoft, the leading provider of Voice over Next Generation Access solutions, today announced the first standards-based ELCP Signaling Stack software between VoDSL Gateways and IADs (Integrated Access Devices).

In order to promote the deployment of Voice over ATM over DSL service, enable carriers to choose best-of-breed equipment based on open solutions, and to speed up interoperability, the ATM Forum specified in June 2000 the ELCP protocol in a standard that outlines voice transport Over ATM (Broadband Loop Emulation Service, BLES) using AAL2 signaling. ELCP (Emulated Loop Control Protocol) is a message-based protocol that relies on the ETSI V5.2 standard. This protocol specifies the mechanism where V5.2-based signaling messages are exchanged between the VoDSL Gateway and IAD to support both POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) and ISDN voice over ATM.
