COPENHAGEN -- Today, TDC is moving into the Swedish market for residential broadband and telephony. This launch is the first step in an offensive strategy designed to expand TDC's home market for residential telephony, broadband, and TV to cover the entire Nordic region.

In the Swedish market, TDC will be challenging the incumbents with a very simple business concept and the lowest prices in the market so far.

"We want to set a new standard for how cheap and simple it can be to buy broadband and telephony in the Swedish market. We will always be able to deliver quality products at competitive prices," says Gert Rieder, Director, TDC Residential.

The launch in Sweden is based on TDC's experience from Telmore and easyMobile within sales and marketing of telephony over the Internet in the British and soon also the German and Dutch markets.

"We have unique experience with how to use simple and easy-to-use products to compete with more traditional market players. It is this knowledge that we are using to expand our home market to include the entire Nordic region," says Gert Rieder.

The Swedish consumers will be offered three broadband products and two types of telephony subscription. The fastest broadband product will have a speed of up to 28 Mbps at a price of SEK 299 per month. Telephony subscriptions start at SEK 79 per month. Today, TDC's offer covers approx. one third of the Swedish market, primarily the large urban areas. The plan is to increase coverage to more than 50 percent in the course of a few years.

At a later point, TDC intends to launch similar products in the Norwegian and Finnish markets. In the Danish market, TDC will launch 20 Mbps broadband next year.
