MUNICH -- Alcatel and Siemens AG have reached an agreement with T-Com, the fixed network unit of Deutsche Telekom AG, on future cooperation. The two companies, the vendors of T-Com’s existing voice network technology, will partner to create a development strategy for an IP-based voice/data infrastructure and implement a pilot project in T-Com's nationwide network. This pilot project is intended to demonstrate the feasibility of realizing a network infrastructure that can meet the short-term market demand for IP-based voice and data services and also provide a future replacement for the current voice infrastructure.
