Sycamore Networks completes Telcordia Osmine Services process for full portfolio of intelligent optical switches

CHELMSFORD, Mass. -- Sycamore Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCMR - News), a leader in intelligent optical networking, today announced that its SN 3000, SN 16000 SC, and SN 16000 intelligent optical switches have successfully completed the Telcordia Technologies(TM) OSMINE Services process for the Telcordia(TM) TIRKS® and NMA® Systems. Having completed the OSMINE process for TIRKS® and NMA® Systems, Sycamore's intelligent optical switches can be used to support a full range of applications for service providers using the Telcordia Operations Support Systems (OSSs).The OSMINE Services process enables network element compatibility and interoperability with the Telcordia OSSs. All of the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs) in the United States use the Telcordia OSSs and require network elements to successfully complete the OSMINE Services process before being deployed in their networks."The Telcordia OSMINE Services process provides flow through automation, reducing operational costs for service providers utilizing Telcordia OSSs," said Dennis Tinley, Vice President of Operations Support Systems, Telcordia Technologies, Inc.
