The two companies will now work together in Asia, Europe and Latin America and have put in place sales resources and other operational practices to make the selling of solutions more efficient and effective for service providers. In turn, this joint effort allows service providers to accelerate the deployment of advanced services to their customers. This go-to-market initiative, which started in North America, is now in place on a global basis across all lines of business within both companies, and in cooperation with key channel partners. The Lucent and Sun teams are pursuing joint sales activities in the areas of IP Centrex central office solutions, customer relationship management, mobile high-speed data solutions and business continuity solutions. Working together under the new alliance model, Lucent and Sun have also provided customers with solutions to address their unified messaging, mobility infrastructure and network management software initiatives.
