Startup Signs Ex-Lucent Sales Exec

ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Seneca Networks, developer of next generation optical networking equipment, today announced the appointment of Bob Hewitt to the Executive Management Team. Bob will serve as Vice President of Business Development and Sales for Seneca. Hewitt is a veteran sales and business development guru with over 20 years of industry experience. A former Sales Executive at Lucent, Hewitt managed the development and global sales of optical, IP, ATM and network management platforms within the company’s backbone builders market segment. His targeted customers included Global Crossing, Level 3, Williams, Broadwing, Tycom, 360 Communications, Aerie Networks, PF.Net and Pathnet. Hewitt’s sales and technical expertise spans the telecom and optical industries. He is particularly adept at introducing new technologies, selling the first fiber to become standard for undersea applications while at Lucent and working with Bell Labs to develop and roll out new customer applications at AT&T.
