ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Spirent Communications™, a wholly owned business group of Spirent plc (NYSE: SPM and LSE: SPT) today announced enhancements to its TeraRouting Tester (TRT). With support for BGPv4, IS-IS, OSPF and RIP with IPv4 and IPv6, the company’s TRT 2.00 application offers extensive support for routing protocols and helps determine their affect on forwarding data using either IPv4 or IPv6. TRT 2.0 will be demonstrated at N+I, Atlanta, September 10-12, 2002 (booth #2235).“Some major service providers will no longer deploy non-IPv6 capable devices. Network equipment vendors are scrambling to add IPv6 routing support to meet this seemingly sudden demand from their customers,” said Bahaa Moukadam, Spirent Communications vice president of product marketing. “Our TRT solution enables the industry to more quickly and thoroughly understand and evaluate IPv6 deployment challenges and accelerate deployment of next generation devices.”TRT leverages Spirents’ award-winning TeraMetrics™ platform to enable testing a router’s or set of routers’ forwarding performance and their ability to simultaneously be updated with control plane updates. In addition, TRT enables users to quickly set up millions of routes over thousands of routers and tens of ports with different interfaces testing all the routing protocols.TRT’s routing testing capability provides an extremely flexible solution allowing the user to implement the same test tool for BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, and RIP routing protocols using IPv4 and/or IPv6 on all interfaces, at speeds from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps. Supported interfaces include 10/100BASE-T, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 10 GbE, and POS from OC-3c to OC-192c.Spirent plc
