ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Spirent Communications(tm), a wholly owned business group of Spirent plc (NYSE: SPM and LSE: SPT), today announced the addition of a 10GBASE-LX4 interface for its 10 Gigabit XENPAK performance analysis system. The 10GBASE-LX4 interface is part of the 10GbE IEEE 802.3ae standard. In a separate release: Spirent Communications(tm), a wholly owned business group of Spirent plc (NYSE: SPM and LSE: SPT), today announced a complete solution for service providers needing to test network links prior to service turn up. Service providers have embarked on provisioning efforts to deliver according to their business customers' evolving expectations and to ensure the delivery of the highest quality services. To achieve this, they must test new network links. Spirent is enabling these service providers to do just that with Turn Up Connect. Now, service providers can quickly and efficiently provision new high-speed network links and determine the suitability of these links to reliably and effectively carry customer traffic. Spirent's new Turn Up Connect application incorporates an easy to use interface, a simple pass/fail output and a complete detailed report of the test results, based on RFC-2544 packet loss measurements. In a separate release: Spirent Communications(tm), a wholly owned business group of Spirent plc (NYSE: SPM and LSE: SPT), today announces its Martini Conformance Test Suite, which supports Martini Layer 2 frames over MPLS conformance testing and builds on the company's comprehensive routing test solution portfolio. Layer 2 virtual private networks continue to generate profits for service providers even in this difficult market. Martini-capable routers enable service providers to offer Frame Relay, ATM, Ethernet, and even TDM services over a converged IP network. As a result, service providers are more easily able to offer virtual private networks in both point-to-point and multi-point configurations in a more cost-effective manner. Spirent Communications
