TORONTO -- MERA Systems, a forefront supplier of carrier-grade solutions for intelligent management of VoIP networks, today announced that SiP Micro Systems Inc has deployed the MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch (MVTS) on its international VoIP network. MVTS will enable the US-based telco to extend its presence in the Latin American and African markets.

SiP Micro Systems is an international telecom service provider based in WI, USA that offers a suite of turnkey VoIP solutions and value added services to a rapidly growing global reseller base. Over the past two years SiP Micro traffic has increased tremendously, and they needed a reliable and intelligent traffic management system to enable their expansion into Latin America, Africa and parts of Europe.

SiP Micro has deployed MERA VoIP Transit Softswitch for greater network resilience and intelligent management capabilities. MERA's MVTS is a robust and scaleable solution that provides the necessary level of reliability and allows for an easy capacity upgrade. SiP Micro deployed MERA's MVTS installed via a Standby Redundancy Mechanism to minimize downtime and ensure that in case of a primary system failure, all traffic is instantly redirected to a second (backup) system.

MVTS allows for a cost-effective and seamless integration between various network components and carriers. SiP Micro utilizes MVTS to centralize route management of its carriers and assure compatibility with various codecs as well as test H323-SIP conversion options for future service offerings. This installation features a flexible management structure with a multi-level access for network engineers and support managers to monitor routes and ASR with customers and promptly respond to the changing customer demands.

Furthermore, the advanced traffic management tools will enable dynamic call routing based on various factors including highest ASR, cost/quality ratio, and route availability of existing carriers. These advanced capabilities, in turn, allow SiP Micro to efficiently manage different tariff schemes (for example, perform least cost routing) and offer interesting rates and quality of service to its network of resellers, enabling them to remain competitive in their respective markets without any compromise on profitability. This added functionality gives SiP Micro the required edge as it aggressively expands its global presence into Latin America and Africa.

"Selecting the right solution in today's competitive market is the most critical part of decision making. We are glad to have MERA's MVTS solution as part of our global infrastructure. The Standby/Redundant solution is something we wanted to ensure the highest level of reliability and provide consistent quality service to our customers. We are extremely satisfied with the support and help extended by MERA support team," comments M. Nowman, Chief Operating Officer of Sip Micro Systems.
