CAMBRIDGE, U.K. -- ANT plc (AIM: ANTP), the market leading provider of software and solutions for IPTV, hybrid TV and digital home products, announces that Siemens Home and Office Communication Devices GmbH & Co KG (Siemens SHC) has licensed the ANT Galio(TM) Client to enable existing and new TV services across a range of Siemens SHC devices in worldwide DVB/IPTV hybrid and pure IPTV markets.

Through the adoption of ANT's client technology, Siemens SHC is able to provide these markets with a harmonized product suite that brings the advantages of scale and scope to their network operator customers. "Siemens SHC will offer the most advanced end-to-end solutions for the IPTV and hybrid TV markets today," said Harald Sendlinger, vice president Home Media, Siemens SHC. "ANT Galio gives Siemens SHC a significant competitive edge in terms of functionality, maneuverability and scalability by delivering a consistent, comprehensive application framework across our product range."

ANT Galio Client provides a dynamic application framework for set-top boxes, televisions, portable devices and PCs. It controls device and service capabilities while presenting an advanced and consistent look and feel across applications, making new services easy to deploy and use. Galio unifies the user experience across services and client devices, simplifying product introduction and network roll-out.

"ANT is excited about the alliance with Siemens SHC, a world-leading supplier to many network operators in the telecommunications market, and for the opportunity to broaden the deployment of ANT Galio," said Stephen Reeder, executive director of product strategy, ANT plc. "Until now, iTV client software has been largely designed in a network-by-network bespoke manner, keeping the larger consumer electronic companies out of the market due to the lack of available scale. The ANT Galio Client provides a TV Client Platform standard which enables this much needed scaling ability."
