MILPITAS, Calif. -- ServGate Technologies™, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance Internet Security Gateways, today announced the launch of a new, scalable security appliance, the ServGate EdgeForce. The appliance, which complements ServGate’s existing line of Security Gateways, allows scalability of both applications and Firewall/VPN performance, without removing the system from the rack. The EdgeForce is an industrial, 3-port security appliance tailored for small-to-medium sized businesses and enterprise RoBo (Remote Offices/Branch Offices) that foresee future growth within their network infrastructure and that require fast, reliable and flexible network security. The EdgeForce platform allows IT managers to configure the base unit with the performance and applications they currently want, while enabling them to easily upgrade to a higher performance module or application module later without removing the security gateway from the rack. "ServGate is touching on a key enterprise value proposition with its introduction of the EdgeForce," said Jeff Phillips, Director at TeleChoice, Inc. "SMB and RoBo IT managers can initially invest less than $1,000 to address the Firewall and VPN performance they need today, while leveraging the same unit when it comes time to add performance or security features. This optioning schema is not only attractive to the end user, but also to the Channel who will be able to reduce inventory where they currently may be stocking multiple devices within the same range.” The EdgeForce platform is comprised of a Base Unit, and two classes of Modules: Application Modules and Performance Modules. Application Modules add features such as Virus Scanning, Web Caching and Local Logging, while the Performance Modules increase system performance of both the Firewall and VPN, and add other capabilities such as DMZ and High Availability. The Modules, which are described below, are activated with the FlexModule software licensing system, and it can be done without taking the device out of the rack.In a separate release:ServGate Technologies™, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance Internet Security Gateways, announced today the launch of My.ServGate.com, a customer service and support portal designed to enhance ‘quality of ownership’ for ServGate customers and partners. My.ServGate.com is a customer-centric web portal that provides two unique functions: a highly-customized interface to ServGate’s service and support department, including detailed views of products and services purchased from ServGate, and an easy-to-use software license key activation system for registering and upgrading ServGate products sold through its worldwide distribution channel. "The introduction of My.ServGate.com is a significant step forward for ServGate,” says Dario Zamarian, ServGate’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development. “Combined with the new modular security approach introduced by our EdgeForce™ Security Gateway, My.ServGate.com provides a significantly enhanced ‘experience of ownership’ for both the end-user, as well as our channel partners.” ServGate Technologies Inc.
