(NYSE:SBC - News) today announced the availability of a managed Quality of Service (QoS) solution that gives enterprise customers new levels of control in the delivery of multiple applications on a single network. The packaged solution is the latest addition to SBC's comprehensive portfolio of professional and managed services.SBC's new QoS offering utilizes Application Performance Management (APM) technology, which allows SBC to analyze all data, voice and video traffic crossing the customer's wide area network (WAN) to provide a detailed report of which applications are utilizing how much bandwidth. APM then allocates and guarantees network bandwidth to match the needs of specific, mission-critical enterprise applications. In order to provide end-to-end QoS, APM is interoperable with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS).APM by SBC meets network managers' need to balance a mix of latency-sensitive applications with bandwidth-intensive applications. With this detailed view and the ability to manage application bandwidth dynamically, SBC is able to prioritize enterprise traffic into three QoS levels: business critical, business important and best effort.
