Noah D. Mesel, ex Legato Systems, gets the job

Riverstone Networks has appointed Noah D. Mesel as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Mesel, a seasoned expert in corporate governance and securities law, will be responsible for all legal matters, including developing policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of Riverstone's business practices. Prior to joining Riverstone, Mesel was Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Legato Systems, Inc., a Mountain View, California-based information protection and content management software company. There, he spearheaded the development of the company's corporate governance and compliance policies and implemented processes and practices to align Legato with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Previous to that, he was Corporate Counsel for the global voice outsourcing business of Lucent Technologies. "Noah is a strong addition to our legal and executive management team," said Oscar Rodriguez, Chief Executive Officer, Riverstone Networks. "As we work to move the business forward, we will look to Noah's expertise and experience to help assure that Riverstone continues to uphold the interests of our of our shareholders, customers, and other stakeholders." Mesel practiced law at the Palo Alto, California-based law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati from 1989 to 1998, where he successfully represented clients in numerous securities class actions and corporate change-of-control transactions.
