RIM Suffers Another Outage

It's not such a happy holiday for BlackBerry addicts: Users of the BlackBerry wireless email service in North America and Europe have been experiencing data outages.

Using Twitter Inc. as their bullhorn, users are bemoaning what appears to be a wide-scale data outage that started on Tuesday. Some of the latest posts, however, suggest that the service is now returning.

RIM hasn't yet issued any official statement on the latest service interruption. Press and bloggers, however, are buzzing about the latest data issue.

The Canadian BlackBerry maker already had a short outage last Thursday in North America. Interestingly, both outages seem to have affected data coverage, which means RIM's crucial wireless email service, rather than voice service, was hit.
