SUWANEE, Ga., and HOLMDEL, N.J. -- Telchemy,® Incorporated, the global leader in VoIP fault and performance management technology, announced that Prominence Networks, a developer of products that guarantee, end-to-end quality for real-time IP voice and video applications, has integrated VQmon/SA active VoIP performance monitoring technology into its MediaIP Service Delivery products. VQmon/SA will help Prominence enhance their existing MediaIP products, which already guarantees QoS for end-to-end service delivery of real-time voice and video applications. Specifically, it will help add the Mean Opinion Score (MOS) capability in Prominence's MediaIP product suite.

The new partnership combines Telchemy's market leading VoIP call quality monitoring technology with Prominence Networks' MediaIP Service Delivery Products to support non-intrusive monitoring of live Voice over IP calls and active QoS control. VQmon/SA examines each voice packet, accurately predicts which packets would be lost or discarded using a jitter buffer emulator, measures the distribution of lost and discarded packets and produces accurate call quality scores (both MOS and R factor) and diagnostic data.

"This powerful combination is essential to provide the ability to measure performance requirements of today's advanced IP Communication environments, with guaranteed quality," said Sid Nag, Founder, President and CEO of Prominence Networks. "Incorporating VQmon/SA helps us deliver an enhanced IP Voice and Video business case resulting in a low risk, high-quality path to convergence."

Prominence Network's MediaIP Service Delivery products are an application-aware service delivery solution that controls and manages voice and video traffic between enterprise sites. These advanced, active QoS control products are seamlessly integrated into the call flow via MediaIP's advanced signaling capabilities. The MediaIP's active network element uses its application and network awareness to dynamically aggregate IP Voice and Videoconferencing calls using reserved bandwidth and performs end-to-end, Intelligent Call Admission Control (ICAC) to ensure quality.

"Integrating VQmon/SA into Prominence's active QoS control, MediaIP products provides the ability to measure MOS Scores, a key component of end-to-end QoS for IP voice and video applications," said Alan Clark, President and CEO of Telchemy, Incorporated. "Both companies have a strong reputation of providing industry leading active VoIP monitoring and control solutions."

Network operators and system administrators use Telchemy's VQmon technology to detect, monitor and resolve call quality and network related problems for networked multi-media services, including Voice and Video over IP and to support active QoS control applications such as call admission control. VQmon is the first VoIP Performance Management software to support the new VoIP management protocols, providing the essential metrics for the International Engineering Task Force (IETF) RFC 3611 (RTCP XR) media path reporting protocol and the QoS reporting protocols for SIP, H.323, MGCP, Megaco and PacketCable.
