ROCHESTER, N.Y. –- Performance Technologies (Nasdaq NM: PTIX), a leading developer of integrated systems, platforms, components and software, today introduced the IPnexus® CPC308 TDM/IP Edge Processor – a flexible product designed for equipment manufacturers and system integrators looking to bridge traditional TDM and emerging IP markets.

The eight-port CPC308 is a powerful and flexible access controller, suited for both PSTN and IP telephony applications. As VoIP networks continue to emerge around the globe, the CPC308 provides an ideal solution for bridging existing and next-generation networks. The CPC308 incorporates an H.110 switch for routing legacy TDM traffic, framers for external connections to TDM networks and an onboard Gigabit Ethernet switch for interconnecting all major components on-board as well as providing connection to the external IP network.

The CPC308 is available with NexusWare™ Core, Performance Technologies' Linux-based board support package (BSP) that provides a powerful development, integration and management environment. NexusWare Core features a suite of carrier-grade device drivers for full access to onboard resources, as well as an easy to use application programming interface (API). NexusWare Core provides integrated drivers for communicating over TCP/IP and is capable of operating within any host system that supports TCP/IP - without the need of bus-based device drivers. Cross development support for Linux, Windows and Solaris platforms is also provided.

The CPC308 shares a common architectural design with the company’s powerful CPC324 TDM/IP Edge Communications Processor, which also allows system integrators to converge both TDM and IP networks onto a single sub-system.

“We designed the CPC308 to fulfill customer demand for a flexible, lower price-point alternative to our powerful, 24-port CPC324 processor,” said Steve Wigent, access product manager for Performance Technologies. “The CPC308 is ideal for system integrators seeking a high speed edge processor to converge new and existing networks, yet who do not necessarily require the significant capacity offered by the CPC324.”
