Perfect P2P Partners?

5:00 PM -- Over on Contentinople, I've got a piece up on the P2P partnership between PeerApp Ltd. and Pando Networks Inc. announced today. (See Pando, PeerApp Partner.)

For that story I spoke with Pando's CEO, Robert Levitan, and PeerApp's VP of business development, Frank Childs, who positioned P2P caching as a better way to manage peer-to-peer traffic traveling through carrier networks.

Which is an interesting tack, even if the parties involved are a bit biased. PeerApp, after all, wants to sell more caching gear. And Pando has to ensure its customers that it will deliver their files without being blocked by overzealous ISPs using traffic management tools.

Still, it's an interesting idea, especially since most people -- except maybe Mark Cuban -- probably agree that blocking isn't the answer.
