CHICAGO -- P-Cube Inc., the originator of programmable IP Service Control Platforms, today announced the availability of Insight, Encharge and Engage, a suite of new IP service Analysis, Billing and Control (ABC) solutions. These applications execute on the P-Cube Service Engine, a high-performance and subscriber-dense platform for the most demanding service provider environments.

Deployment of P-Cube’s “ABC” Service Control solutions serve as the intelligent service layer over basic IP transport, enabling service providers – from DSL, cable, mobile, to metro optical – to gain unprecedented network visibility, control abusive applications and users, dedicate bandwidth to support new application services such as P2P, VoIP, Video on Demand (VoD), and generate accurate application and user-level usage reports for their billing systems.

“Insight, Encharge and Engage are packaged turn-key solutions that are based on our experience with cable, mobile and DSL service providers around the world. These solutions provide the programmable intelligence carriers need in order to turn their IP transport pipes into a customizable service infrastructure,” said Yuval Shahar, CEO and President of P-Cube. “Utilizing P-Cube’s solutions, for the first time carriers can understand the sessions and content their networks carry; selectively control application usage patterns, such as P2P in order to improve the utilization of their networks and introduce new services. Finally, service providers can better monetize their networks by implementing new rating and billing plans for these services, all using a single network element.”

Analyze: Insight Brings Complete Network Usage Awareness
P-Cube Insight provides a cost-effective, scalable application-level usage analysis solution that enables the service provider to gain granular visibility into their network for better capacity planning, usage trend analysis and abuse identification.

“The P-Cube Insight solution complements our IUM mediation system and provides a very powerful and flexible usage collection system,” said Barry Hill, Director WW NSP Software Sales of Hewlett-Packard. “With Insight’s application-level usage reporting, we can extract more value from our mediation solution and have been able to win some key top-tier accounts.”

Bill: Encharge Provides A Converged Postpaid/Prepaid Solution
P-Cube Encharge leverages the architecture of the Service Control Platform to bring Intelligent Network functionality to data networks. Relying on the granular analysis and accounting of usage information, and the ability to maintain subscriber level quotas and apply service access restrictions directly on the IP data stream, Encharge enables mobile operators to develop content based pre- & post- paid services, with customized plans for services such as browsing, email, instant-messaging and push-to-talk.

P-Cube’s Encharge has been selected for trials and deployment by leading mobile providers in the United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Japan and Latin America for its converged postpaid and prepaid solution for mobile data.

Control: Engage Delivers User and Application-Level Control
P-Cube Engage enables network operators to precisely control bandwidth at the user and application level, a capability that is increasingly important for a variety of services, including tiered service plans, bandwidth on demand, or access control for VoD. With rampant increase of P2P traffic on provider networks, Engage also provides an elegant solution to manage the P2P traffic by intelligently shaping with upstream/downstream limits, usage quotas and time of day restrictions optimizing the overall user experience.

“The Engage solution has provided us with the ability to both control P2P traffic and create customized tiered service offerings,” said Scott Garnett, General Manager of Dot Communications. “We plan to expand the use of the Engage solution in our customer’s networks by providing new application-based services to their subscriber base.”
