Orange Waxes Bold

9:20 AM -- BlackBerry 's new Bold 3G phone has run into a spot of bother in the U.K. as Orange UK has had to stop selling the device because it wasn't working properly. Orange and RIM have not specified the problem, but RIM says it is working on a software fix for some "3G related concerns." (See CTIA: RIM Confirms October for the Bold, Vodafone UK, RIM Intro Bold, RIM Makes Bold Move, and Orange Bows Bold in France.)

On Orange's Website, the 3.6 Mbit/s HSDPA device is listed as "out of stock."

Here's the official joint statement from Orange and RIM:
    Orange UK is committed to providing the BlackBerry Bold to its customers in the UK, however Orange UK and RIM are currently working on providing a maintenance release of software to address some reported 3G related concerns. Although the reported 3G concerns have been limited to a minority of Orange customers in the UK, Orange UK and RIM both take customer concerns very seriously and felt it was prudent to introduce a maintenance release of software for Orange UK customers at this time. Orange UK and RIM apologise to customers for any inconvenience and expect to provide a software maintenance release soon.
So, is Orange the only operator with Bold problems? In the U.K., Vodafone is still selling the devices and doesn't seem to have the same issues.
