'Ocean' Washed Up Already?

6:00 PM -- Check it out: My colleague, Eric Zeman, over at InformationWeek really didn't have a good word to say about the Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (Korea: SEC)'s launch of its Bada (a.k.a. "Ocean") mobile operating system in London this morning.

I wasn't there, so I can't say too much about Bada being the "very definition of vaporware." I do know, however, that 2010 is going to be a competitive year for all involved in the mobile open-source operating system market. Particularly as we're expecting market leader, the Symbian Foundation , to attempt to get back some of the luster stolen by Android, especially in the U.S.

Samsung better do something with Bada sooner rather than later if it doesn't want to get washed up on a reef. — Dan Jones, Site Editor, Unstrung
