GREENVILLE, S.C. -- NuVox Communications, a leading provider of voice, data, and security services to business customers throughout the Southeast and Midwest, has named Charles J. Norris as Chief Operating Officer. Norris brings over 25 years of proven telecommunications experience to NuVox, including demonstrated success in establishing customer- focused and cost-efficient operating groups. As COO, Norris will lead efforts to drive sales and operational performance for the company.

"I am very confident that Jack is uniquely suited to maximize NuVox's position in the marketplace as a high-growth, customer-friendly communications services provider. He has both the leadership and the breadth of experience to leverage our sales and operational teams to achieve our goal of providing our customers with the best service available in the marketplace," commented Jim Akerhielm, CEO of NuVox Communications. "We are pleased to have someone with Jack's impressive profile as part of our team."

Prior to joining NuVox in April 2006, Norris served as President of Renuu Enterprises, Inc., a telecommunications consulting company, where he was responsible for implementing large-scale operating improvements and cost savings to one of the world's largest global telecommunications carriers. He also served as President, Customer Service and Network at Equant, NV, a subsidiary of France Telecom. His earlier career in telecommunications included work with Teleglobe, an international wholesaler, and MCI, where he held a variety of executive positions in Operations, Engineering, and Program Management.

"NuVox caters to the small and medium sized business market better than anyone in the sector. This distinction, along with a very strong management team and board of directors, attracted me to the company. I am extremely excited to be part of the NuVox team, and I am eager to drive operational excellence as well as rapid growth in our 48 markets," added Norris.

Norris holds a BS in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and an MS in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
