NTT Goes Latin
NEW YORK -- NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and a global IP network services provider, today announced its Latin American affiliate NTT do Brasil has joined AHCIET, the Ibero-American Association of Research Centers and Telecommunication Enterprises. This membership solidifies NTT Communications’ footprint in the Latin American market.
“Latin America is a very attractive market for international carriers” Founded in 1982, AHCIET is a non-profit organization representing more than 50 Latin American and Spanish telecommunications companies. Companies join with the goal of contributing to telecommunications development as a basis of economic growth and development. AHCIET provides a variety of programs including a complete telecom information service, training to keep members updated on the latest technology, market and business opportunities and strategies, as well as an ongoing effort to promote the global information society through a variety of events and programs.
Commenting on the new membership of NTT do Brasil, a subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, the Secretary General of AHCIET, Francisco Gómez Alamillo said, “As the largest carrier in Asia, we believe NTT Com can bring a fresh perspective to the working relationships between operator companies on both continents.
