Vendors of border session controllers sometimes claim that their products are a vital ingredient of large-scale voice-over-IP (VOIP) networks, but startup NexTone Communications Inc. can actually prove it.

NexTone’s border session controller has already helped global VOIP provider Convergia Networks Inc. solve scaleability problems it was encountering with equipment from Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO).
