NeuStar Acquires Fiducianet

WASHINGTON -- NeuStar, a leading provider of information exchange services for the communications industry, today announced the acquisition of Fiducianet, Inc., a premier provider of law enforcement compliance and fraud management services to traditional and VoIP-enabled wireline, wireless and cable service providers.

Through Fiducianet, NeuStar will serve as a single point of contact in managing all day-to-day customer obligations involving subpoenas, court orders and law enforcement agency requests under electronic surveillance laws -- including the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement (CALEA), Patriot and Homeland Security Acts.

"VoIP technology is fundamentally changing the way we utilize communications networks to communicate," said NeuStar Chairman and CEO Jeffrey E. Ganek. "Through Fiducianet, NeuStar is well positioned to address the law enforcement compliance needs of communications service providers -- and, in particular, service providers that are rolling out VoIP services.

Additionally, NeuStar will provide carriers with around-the-clock fraud management platform solutions and network assurance services that thoroughly improve existing security procedures."

"Fiducianet has an unparalleled compliance platform tested by a nationwide blue-chip customer base," said Mike Warren, president of Fiducianet. "Through its newly acquired Fiducianet compliance solutions, NeuStar will help carriers significantly reduce day-to-day compliance exposure so they can focus on operational excellence and customer service."

Fiducianet executives Mike Warren, a 29-year FBI veteran and Doug McCollum, a former assistant U.S. attorney and 26-year expert in carrier compliance with Bell Atlantic and Verizon, will join NeuStar as a result of the acquisition.

The terms of the Fiducianet transaction were not disclosed.
