SAN JOSE, Calif. -- NetTest, a global provider of operational support solutions for advanced and converged networks, today announced new enhancements to its MasterQuest VoIP monitoring solution, the most complete service assurance system for voice-over-IP (VoIP) networks. The new version provides monitoring of VoIP customer terminals and access points, enabling service providers to more efficiently deploy VoIP for enterprise customers.

NetTest also signed its first MasterQuest VoIP solution customer contract from a North American Tier One operator. The operator will be using MasterQuest VoIP for monitoring VoIP-based long distance bypass, which provides tremendous cost savings compared to using traditional long distance transport bandwidth.

The enhanced MasterQuest VoIP solution includes multi-purpose session tracing capabilities ranging from dedicated troubleshooting to customer support functions over advanced data warehouse applications for service assurance and network optimization. The latest version also supports the Traffic Observer application, a powerful and real-time network monitoring tool targeting Network Operation Centers that require rapid detection and pinpointing of revenue-critical and customer-affecting issues in a fast paced environment.

"The VoIP monitoring and management industry is expected to grow from about $50 million to close to $300 million by 2008," said Jessy Cavazos, industry analyst and communications test sector leader for Frost & Sullivan. "This growth is expected to be fueled largely by service providers and carriers worldwide seeking powerful solutions that enable them to offer and meet service level agreements (SLA) and detect, troubleshoot and prevent voice quality issues. The latest MasterQuest VoIP monitoring solution meets such needs, presenting NetTest with an opportunity to leverage its success in the wireless network monitoring market to the VoIP monitoring arena."
