OTTAWA -- N-able Technologies®, the No 1 provider of managed services software and business transformation services for resellers servicing small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), today announced VoIP (Voice over IP) Service Manager - a new service module that enables Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to remotely monitor and manage the availability and performance metrics from distributed VoIP systems. As with other N-able managed service offerings, the new VoIP module allows MSPs to add more value to existing customers and opens the door to new business opportunities and clientele.

Available in the U.S. and Canada to qualified N-able partners(x), the new VoIP Service Manager works in tandem with the N-able's proprietary N-central® platform and is designed to support service providers with an existing Cisco® based VoIP practice.

"The ongoing need for a reliable, scaleable, and cost-effective phone service makes VoIP a lucrative investment for businesses of all sizes," said Mark Scott, president and CEO, N-able Technologies. "And as demand for this emerging technology grows so does the opportunity for our partners to generate additional, predictable revenue streams by managing and monitoring VoIP solutions."

According to Infonetics Research Inc., VoIP service revenues in North America alone are expected to rise more than 1,400 percent from $1.3 billion in 2004, to nearly $20 billion in 2009. "That equates to a sizable managed service opportunity for our partners with existing VoIP practices," continues Scott. "It's a call to action for those partners who are still on the fence about whether to develop a VoIP technology practice."

To help partners effectively capture this fast-growth market opportunity, N-able's VoIP Service Manager is equipped with a set of proactive services that actually help prevent phone system issues before they occur. These include:

  • Centralized Dashboard - Tracks all components of the VoIP infrastructure across entire client base.

  • Device and Hardware Management - Monitors the resource utilization for devices within the VoIP network.

  • Application Availability and Connectivity - Polls critical VoIP applications to ensure availability.

  • Traffic Service - Collects key availability and utilization metrics from IP networks that are critical factors in the quality of the VoIP call.

  • Alerting Service - Receives automatic, proactive notifications when thresholds are exceeded and, or a service failure occurs. These feature-rich services make it easier to monitor and manage clients' VoIP systems and take customer service levels, satisfaction ratings and response times to a new level of excellence 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

"N-able's new VoIP Service Manager brings VoIP management up to par with the level of the traditional PBX management and gives us a robust and comprehensive monitoring, management and reporting solution for our Cisco® CallManager VoIP customers," said John DiNatale, executive vice president, Ronco Corporate Operations, a NY-based supplier of integrated technology solutions and services. "Managed services increase our value proposition to our customers by providing them with the best possible response time in correcting system problems with real-time reporting and alarm monitoring capabilities."
