PARIS -- With the wind so froid it could freeze a glass of vin blanc in seconds, staying in the bosom of the MPLS & Ethernet World Congress in the French capital's Marriott Rive Gauche hotel and whipping out a camera seemed like the natural thing to do on a Tuesday afternoon.

Find out who was brave enough to submit to a photo by clicking on the picture below to launch the slide show.

All the photos and captions are home-made, so there are no third parties we can blame for the results ...

Earlier in the day at the event there was a product launch and talk of further Carrier Ethernet/MPLS friction. C'est bon! Read about that and see other recent MPLS news here:

People might start thinking we only cover these conferences for the coffee.

I'm not saying that's incorrect, by the way.

The coffee is a great value-added service and provides a picture opportunity almost unmatched at specialist events such as this one, where the show floor lacks much in the way of standout aesthetics: that's why I spent time persuading Ipanema to get clever with its aaples and mini WAN optimization box -- it was the standout pic opp!

I am not alone in the Daisy fan club, though. Nan Chen began his MEF presentation by saying how great her coffee is and encouraging people to visit the ADVA stand, where Daisy has her coffee shop set up. He added that he doesn't hold shares in ADVA... :-)
