DALLAS -- MASERGY, a global service provider specializing in simplifying business networks for enterprises, today announced updates to its Network Analyst tool, which was first introduced in January 2006. The first service-embedded WAN traffic analysis tool, Network Analyst will now feature threshold alarms, allowing customers to be alerted via email with application usage levels on their MASERGY MPLS network.

The new threshold alarms are customizable and give customers the ability to set email alerts that notify them when predetermined usage levels are reached or if a packet drops on their network. MASERGY offers a number of alarms, including sustained port usage, sustained voice and video usage, port packet drops, and video and voice packet drops. Alarms are classified by yellow, which stands as a warning; and by red for danger.

"By adding the threshold alarm feature to the Network Analyst tool, MASERGY is furthering its commitment to deliver advanced tools and services that simplify enterprise networking," said Terri Compton, senior vice president of sales and marketing for MASERGY. "Our customers look to MASERGY to provide superior products and services that simplify network performance management."

The threshold alarms feature can be accessed using MASERGY's Web-based service portal. On the Web portal, network managers can instantly and conveniently set threshold alarms, verify service level agreements (SLAs), view granular detail, analyze network traffic and generate management reports.

"MASERGY's Network Analyst tool gave us the necessary means to tune our network quickly, efficiently and effectively, which was pertinent given our offices are located across the South Central United States," says David Erwin, CIO of Adams and Reese, a MASERGY customer. "Vital to the success of businesses such as ours, are tools that are sophisticated and cost- effective, yet easy to deploy and use. MASERGY is addressing these needs in an innovative but simple way by embedding such tools directly in its WAN service."
