HERNDON, Va. and OVERLAND PARK, Kan. -- China Telecom Americas, the largest international subsidiary of China Telecom Limited (NYSE: CHA), is collaborating with Sprint (NYSE: S) to strengthen its global MPLS VPN capabilities by interconnecting the data networks of the two companies. This will allow China Telecom Americas' customers to experience the same congestion-free connectivity with security, redundancy and quality of service they have come to expect on the China Telecom Americas' existing MPLS network.

This relationship allows China Telecom Americas to extend its existing capabilities and footprint around the world by giving China Telecom Americas' customers access to the full range of capabilities inherent in Sprint's global Tier 1 IP network with multiple access solutions, enabling Class of Service for data, voice and video. China Telecom Americas' MPLS VPN network is connected directly to Sprint's network via network-to-network interfaces (NNI).
