ALVISO, Calif. -- Minerva Networks, the leading provider of software solutions for the delivery of television services to IP connected devices, today announced the general availability of the latest version (v5.3) of its iTVFusion 5 video services platform. Minerva iTVFusion v5.3 incorporates the latest Internet technologies, including Adaptive Bit-Rate (ABR) streaming, Quality of Experience (QoE) monitoring, wireless LAN connectivity, and high-performance embedded browsers, to provide a powerful toolkit for network operators to compete with emerging Over-the-Top (OTT) players. The enhanced platform enables operators to reach more subscribers, lower deployment and operational costs and deliver a more engaging consumer experience.

“By embracing the latest Internet technologies and content, operators can enhance their current pay-TV services with new value-added services – increasing customer reach and retention, and improving the bottom line,” said Mauro Bonomi, CEO at Minerva Networks. “Instead of ceding their network bandwidth to OTT providers with no financial return on increased costs, operators can utilize the Minerva iTVFusion 5 platform to provide more entertaining television services.”

"As operators evaluate how they can leverage their networks to deliver Broadband TV services, solutions such as Minerva's iTVFusion 5.3 can help them quickly deploy rich, compelling experiences," said Colin Dixon, Senior Partner at The Diffusion Group.
