NICE, France -- MetaSolv Software, Inc., a global leader in comprehensive service fulfillment solutions for next-generation communications service providers, today announced that a recent survey by independent market research firm Heavy Reading confirms MetaSolv's leadership in key segments of the Operational Support System (OSS) market. MetaSolv received the #1 ranking for Service Activation, #2 in Service Provisioning, #3 in Mediation, #4 in Resource and Inventory Management, and #4 in the category of overall OSS supplier.

Heavy Reading's 2005 OSS Market Perception Study measured global communications service provider perceptions of 190 OSS suppliers. This report is based solely upon OSS customer perceptions, not those of industry or market analysts.

"MetaSolv is seen as a leader in Service Fulfillment OSS and received solid rankings in each of their respective product segments, with a #1 position in Service Activation. These results mark a big improvement for MetaSolv," noted Heavy Reading Management Director, Dennis Mendyk, who was the lead consultant for the report. "These results indicate that the company is doing a better job of getting its message (value proposition and ROI) across to service provider buyers."

The report indicates that OSS specialists like MetaSolv are getting more attention and building mind share with carrier customers. The report further noted that "Micromuse, Agilent and MetaSolv all gained significant ground in the overall standings." Across all OSS market segments the report identified MetaSolv as #4 in overall market perception, surpassed only by Micromuse Inc., Agilent Technologies Inc., and Hewlett-Packard Co.

"We welcome this outstanding level of recognition from our customer base, the global operator community," noted David Sharpley, MetaSolv Senior Vice-President of Marketing and Product Management. "MetaSolv continues to execute and be seen as an OSS industry leader, providing compelling value to operators as they look to deploy next-generation services and optimize their operational cost structure."
