TORONTO -- MERA Networks, Inc., a key enabler of VoIP technologies for next-generation enterprise communications, today announced the launch of the MERA VoIP Key System (MVKS), an open-standard LAN PBX uniquely designed for the SME market.

The MVKS is a cutting-edge LAN-based PBX solution created specifically to meet the communications requirements of small to midsize businesses and larger companies with multi-site facilities and locations. One of the key strengths of MERA’s solution lies in its full interoperability with virtually any network and equipment, combined with the ease of installation and operation procedures, readily comprehensible to non-technical staff. The advanced feature set that includes conferencing, unified messaging, ‘click to dial’, integration with MS Outlook data, and many other relevant capabilities, enables enterprises to efficiently process critical customer calls and greatly facilitate business communications.

The MVKS series is represented by a family of four products, each tailored to meet the needs of a particular target group: MVKS Lite, MVKS Standard, MVKS Professional and MVKS Enterprise.

  • MVKS Lite is a software edition of the MVKS whose performance is limited to two concurrent external calls. The MVKS Lite is distributed FREE OF CHARGE in pursuance of the company’s try-and-buy policy. MERA provides carriers with a wonderful opportunity to install and try the system at their office or home at no cost!

  • MVKS Standard is a software IP PBX that supports five concurrent calls and perfectly fits companies with a staff of about thirty people. It is a perfect solution to connect remote offices of a larger geographically distributed enterprise.

  • MVKS Professional is a software/hardware integration that supports five concurrent calls and allows rapid, off-the-shelf deployment backed up by vendor-guaranteed reliability.

  • MVKS Enterprise is a software/hardware system that supports ten simultaneous calls and ideally suits medium-sized enterprises operating remote offices with up to 60 subscribers.

“An easy installation procedure and advanced interworking capabilities make the MVKS an excellent instrument for connecting remote locations and SOHO workers,” says Natalya Korobkova, Marketing Director for MERA Networks, Inc. “Furthermore, employees traveling on business can connect to the MVKS from a hotel or any other location through the Internet for free communication with their office, which delivers measurable cost-savings to every company with international operations. We invite all visitors of the INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & Expo, February 11-13, 2004, Hyatt Regency Miami, FL, to see us at Booth 510 and enjoy the free MVKS Lite Edition, which they can use for business or home.”
