WARRINGTON, U.K. -- In a move which will further strengthen its position as a leading provider of comprehensive business solutions to the telecommunications sector, Martin Dawes Systems today announced the acquisition of Boston, Massachusetts firm Lavastorm Technologies, an award-winning provider of next generation revenue and business assurance software.

Lavastorm has quickly established itself as a provider of one of the most sophisticated and powerful revenue assurance software applications on the market. The company has a strong portfolio of clients including a US-based carrier and one of the largest US cable providers.

The acquisition will provide a US base for Martin Dawes Systems to extend its operations in the North American market and a platform for Lavastorm to extend its operations into Europe and abroad. The combined company has a global reach to meet increasing demand, from existing operators and new entrants, for cost effective business solutions which combine low cost of implementation and operation with rapid deployment and ease of use.

Explaining the rationale and business benefits behind the transaction, Dewi Thomas, managing director of Martin Dawes Systems, said: "Global market, technology and regulatory forces are driving operators as never before to optimise their financial performance and ensure the integrity of their financial reporting. The Lavastorm acquisition coupled with Martin Dawes Systems existing assets provides technology and solution capabilities to help carriers achieve these business imperatives.

"With our combined solution set, we will provide operators with overall subscriber management and business assurance software and solutions that will increase their revenues, lower their operating expenses and improve their asset utilisation. In many cases, we have already seen customers achieve results which provide quantifiable, in-year investment returns of better than 200%," added Thomas.
