SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Entrisphere, the only company that is enabling incumbent carrier networks to offer advanced, converged services without disrupting current operations, today announced that Mark Floyd has become its president and CEO. Floyd gained fame as co-founder, president and CEO of Efficient Networks, which was sold to Siemens for $1.5 billion in April 2001. As an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award winner for 2001, Mr. Floyd has been associated with four successful start-ups, all of which went public. Immediately prior to joining Entrisphere, he was an entrepreneur-in-residence at Crosspoint Venture Partners. Entrisphere cofounder and interim CEO Bill Coughran will continue as an Entrisphere director and will become the company's COO, responsible for continued product planning, development, and the delivery of Entrisphere's flagship product. "We have completed the initial phases of our product development, and Entrisphere is now ready to prepare for its market entry," said Coughran. "Attracting a CEO of Mark's caliber is a strong validation of our strategy. His company-building expertise and his close contacts with incumbent local exchange carriers will serve us well as we move toward our product launch." Entrisphere Inc.
