Mangrove Systems names John Gamelin as vice president of technology, and Paul Doolan as vice president of network architecture

WALLINGFORD, Conn. -- Mangrove Systems, the developer of the industry’s first Multiservice GFP Switching system, today announced the expansion of their senior management team with the appointment of John Gamelin as Vice President of Technology, and Paul Doolan as Vice President of Network Architecture. Both positions report directly to Jonathan Reeves, president and CEO.

John Gamelin joins Mangrove with significant experience leading the development of carrier class switching products and broad expertise in advanced network technologies. Prior to Mangrove, John served as co-founder and later, Vice President of Engineering with Tellium; previously, he was a senior scientist at Bellcore. With a PhD in Electrical Engineering, John is the author or co-author of over 30 publications and holds several optical cross-connect and switching patents.

Paul Doolan is an internationally recognized expert on data communications technologies. Paul has made major contributions to MPLS technologies. He designed and defined Cisco’s Tag Distribution Protocol (TDP) and for two years led the IETF’s Label Distribution Protocol (LDP) work. Paul made early contributions to the integration of Frame and ATM technology with MPLS and was a founder member of the MPLS Forum. His industry experience includes senior engineering and executive management roles with such companies as Cisco Systems, DEC, Ascom Nexion and most recently, Ennovate Networks as Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President.
