CALABASAS, Calif. -- Malibu Networks today announced a revolutionary new system for fixed wireless broadband IP access. The Malibu 2.5, Malibu 3.5, and Malibu 5.8 systems are unique. They combine high bandwidth; wireless broadband that doesn't require line of sight; powerful quality of service support for voice and video; and service level agreements.

The result: wireless becomes an important broadband option that can compete with DSL and cable modems. In fact, the Malibu wireless systems can deliver higher bandwidth -- and stronger QoS -- than either DSL or cable modems. Malibu is delivering complete systems: base stations, customer premise equipment, antennas, protocol and system software, and management software. In 2001 it will support the 2.5 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 5.8 GHz spectra; additional frequency bands are scheduled for 2002.
