4:00 PM -- Last week, Light Ranting mentioned that it would be monitoring the uncanny convergence of and share prices, and that we would update you on further developments (see $3 Stock Shocker).

Well, today, in one of the great cosmic events, the LU/NT convergence -- known in some circles of the "LUNT" -- was completed. For several moments in time, between the hours of 10AM and noon, both Lucent and Nortel stocks had the same price. They could both be had for 3.04 or 3.05 -- with some high-rollers paying 3.06, according to exchange data.

Hmm, let's see... Hurricane Katrina leaves a vast swath of destruction at the same time as Lucent and Nortel are trading for $3.04. Coincidence?

Scientists are unsure of the long-term spiritual and physical impact of this great natural event, but we'll keep you posted.
