Alameda, Calif., facility is aimed at those involved in the installation or maintenance of Lucent products

MURRAY HILL, N.J. -- Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU - news) has opened its newest technical performance certification laboratory in Alameda, Calif. in which internetworking professionals can become certified as technical experts in various technologies critical to today's converged voice and data networks. The Lucent Certified Technical Expert (LCTE) program is primarily aimed at Lucent employees, business partners and end-users involved in the installation, service, support, distribution, or maintenance of Lucent products and solutions. Candidates for the program include internetworking professionals, and others interested in validating their advanced technical knowledge of Lucent products and solutions.

"Lucent continues to invest in the training and validation of technical expertise for both Lucent employees and industry professionals. Our global certification labs are a reflection of that commitment and investment. With our newest performance lab in Alameda, Calif. we now have four world-class labs in the U.S., Europe and Asia," said Gene Salois, Lucent's senior manager for the LCTE program.
