Lucent upgraded Mexican service provider MCM Telecom's MPLS backbone network in Mexico City with Juniper's M-series Multiservice Edge routers

MURRAY HILL, N.J., and SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) and Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that Lucent has upgraded Mexican service provider MCM Telecom's Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone network in Mexico City with Juniper Networks M-series Multiservice Edge routers, enhancing the security and maximizing the performance of the network.

MCM Telecom owns and operates Mexico's largest metropolitan fiber optic networks in Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara and offers a complete range of voice and data services to businesses. Services include IP-based voice solutions, business-focused high capacity data services, and point-to-point and point-to-multipoint optical network transport.

Using unique J-Protect filtering capabilities, the M-series also protects the network from distributed denial-of-service attacks and other security threats.
