WARSAW, Poland - Lucent Technologies (NYSE: LU) announced today that it has delivered its 2500th Stinger® DSL broadband access concentrator to Telekomunikacja Polska (TP) to support its nationwide neostrada tp and internet DSL tp broadband access offers for individual and business subscribers.

Stinger® access concentrators form the basis of TP's neostrada tp and internet DSL tp broadband access offers for enterprise and residential customers, enabling high-speed Internet access as well as providing base for the future introduction of "triple-play" services, allowing subscribers to benefit from simultaneous access to Internet, voice and video (broadcast TV, video on demand).

Lucent Stinger® concentrators are part of Lucent's unique "triple play" offer, which includes the Lucent Stinger® Digital Subscriber Line Access Concentrator and supporting IP (Internet Protocol) services, Riverstone Ethernet gear, Juniper network routers, Lucent Ethernet over Sonet/SDH and optical transport solutions, and Lucent Worldwide Services. The Lucent "triple play" offer enables carriers to build "Value over IP™" networks that deliver a rich mix of multimedia voice, data and video services to their subscribers.

"According to Point Topic, Poland has been ranked as first among the countries with the highest growth dynamic in the field of broadband internet access. From December 2003 until June 2004 alone the growth achieved 80 percent," said Andrzej Dulka, Lucent Technologies sales director for Central and Eastern Europe. "Neostrada tp is the flagship broadband access offer in Poland. Its number of users keeps growing fast, and thanks to the capabilities of Lucent Stinger® systems TP subscribers can get faster access and more diverse service offer."

TP and Lucent signed a framework contract for the supply of DSL broadband access systems in July 2002. Since then, Lucent has supplied TP with solutions from its Accelerate™ Next Generation Networking portfolio, namely Stinger® FS+, LS and MRT products from the Stinger® digital subscriber line (DSL) access concentrator family, CellPipe® customer premise equipment (CPE) subscriber devices and Lucent's NavisAccess™ DSL Management System. The agreement has been extended several times, most recently at the end of September to €100m.
