Lucatel's Wedding Reception

10:00 AM -- Never mind Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in an Italian castle -- the wedding of the season happens this Thursday in Paris between Serge 'The Merge' Tchuruk and Pat Russo as they swap vows and bring Alcatel (NYSE: ALA; Paris: CGEP:PA) and Lucent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: LU) together.

And while Cruise & Co. had tight restrictions on photographers and reporters at their ceremony, it's a free-for-all at the vendors' post-nuptial party, slated for this Friday.

"On the occasion of the birth of Alcatel-Lucent," our invite reads, "Serge Tchuruk, Alcatel Chairman and CEO, and Patricia Russo, Lucent Chairman and CEO, have the pleasure of inviting you on Friday, December 1 from 12.45 p.m. to a press conference."

Well, OK, but what about the band? And a wedding singer? Traditional French warbling or a Vegas crooner?

EuroBlog has a personal karaoke kit, and we're available at short notice... Anyone know the words to D.I.V.O.R.C.E.? That always goes down well at the reception.
