PHOENIX -- Phoenix-based Limelight Networks, the Internet delivery experts, have selected the NetVanta 3000 Series of access routers from ADTRAN (Nasdaq: ADTN) as the key element of its nationwide Tier-1 connection service. Implementing NetVanta routers as part of Limelight Networks' industry-leading IP architecture saves customers over 50 percent on vital Internet connections.

Limelight Networks has emerged as the price/performance leader across a full range of IP delivery services. This remarkable pricing for IP connectivity is based on an efficient network architecture, strategic relationships with Tier-1 carriers, and high-volume content delivery (CDN) services that gives the company significant bandwidth buying power. The combination creates savings opportunities for enterprise customers who simply need bandwidth. The nationwide Tier-1 transit service, marketed as BackBone Connect, offers businesses the benefits of high quality connectivity at the lowest industry pricing on services ranging from T-1s to OC-192s. As an example, Limelight Networks is offering T-1 services in the Phoenix metro area as low as $129. BackBone Connect leverages one of the most extensive IP-based networks with reach to over 200 major cities and 100,000-plus miles of secure fiber-optic routing along with the industry's best optical networking equipment.

"We are pleased that Limelight Networks has selected the NetVanta 3000 Series for its nationwide T1 service, " said Tim Saunders, vice president of product management for ADTRAN's Enterprise Networks Division. "Limelight Networks is known for delivering leading price and performance in the industry. The NetVanta routers complement that philosophy with a full- featured, extremely cost-competitive platform that enables Limelight to deliver the feature set required to meet even the most rigorous performance demands."
