Kriens Speaks

NOON -- In case you missed it yesterday, San Jose's Mercury News held a Q&A with Juniper CEO Scott Kriens.

He wouldn't confirm the Hurricane rumor, relating to a big splash coming Jan. 29. (Juniper has booked that day to discuss its enterprise strategy but won't confirm there's a product announcement tied to it.) And because it's a local paper, he spends a lot of time discussing local hiring.

He does foresee an "exaflood" of data -- the term appears to be the Merc's, not his -- but not the death of the Internet. "The thing I don't agree with is that it is therefore going to cause a meltdown. I think it will be handled without the trauma that some people project," he says.

Actually, I got very little out of reading the piece. But if you want to look for yourself, here it is.

re: Kriens Speaks Someone ought to name their startup "Exaflood," if they haven't already. It's sure to bring fame and fortune, or at least fame.
