Kestrel Enhances Net Management

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Kestrel Solutions, Inc., an innovator in metro optical networking, today announced the release of an enhanced version of its Element Management System (EMS). Designed by Net Monitor, Kestrel's recently acquired UK subsidiary, the new EMS offers significant feature enhancements, scalability improvements, and support for the Unix operating system. Kestrel Solutions' TalonMX (TM) EMS is a powerful carrier-class application that fits into the carriers' operations support environment and is designed to simplify the tasks associated with managing a TalonMX optical network. The software is a distributed, client/server application featuring multi-user, multi-platform access. Its architecture is open and standards based, featuring functions specified in the Telecommunications Management Network (TMN) standards and interfaces based on the CORBA architecture.

"We worked closely with ILECs and major CLECs/IXCs to understand their operations support environments and intelligent optical networking requirements. The new release of the TalonMX EMS delivers the features required by our most demanding customers and enables them to efficiently manage their optical bandwidth," said Gus Elmer, Vice President of Product Management.
