Juniper's New Look
11:00 AM -- CHICAGO -- Supercomm 2009 -- Juniper Networks Inc. (NYSE: JNPR) has something new up its sleeve, according to Forbes.
An article posted yesterday says the router vendor is about to launch a new logo that's more spare and modern. (Shades of Ciena, anyone? See Ciena Debuts New Look, New Message.)
You'll find the article here. It also says Juniper is preparing a powerful new chip called Trio, which would apparently let Juniper put 16 ports of 10-Gbit/s Ethernet on a router slot, as Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO) plans to do next year; and a services platform called Junos Space, which would carry applications such as network analysis and monitoring.
Juniper has been undergoing a makeover ever since Kevin Johnson took the helm as CEO in July 2008. (See Report: Juniper Finds... a CEO?, Kriens Steps Aside as Juniper CEO, Juniper Tightens Its Belt, Juniper Strikes at the Data Center, Juniper's Same Old Look, and Juniper to Join NYSE.)
