SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR) today announced that it has been awarded a multi-year contract by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) for all edge and core IP/MPLS routers for the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Global Information Grid -- Bandwidth Expansion (GIG-BE) Program.

SAIC is DISA's prime contractor for the GIG-BE Program.

GIG-BE, a worldwide switched optical network with 10 Gbit/s OC192 or faster connections, initially will serve Defense Department users at 100 sites around the globe. Juniper Networks expects to deploy its M- and T- series routing platforms in early 2004.

These products seamlessly integrate the capabilities of high performance routers, firewalls, Ethernet and Frame/ATM switches, VPN appliances, packet shapers, and traffic monitoring and analysis devices for higher performing and more easily managed networks.
