Juniper Networks delivers carrier grade VOIP

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR - News) today announced enhancements to its Voice over IP (VoIP) portfolio, J-Voice, with the introduction of features to deliver highly resilient, carrier-grade packet voice networks. These new features include fast IP link detection and recovery, call admission control, enhanced IP routing for voice traffic and the extension of Application Level Gateway (ALG) support for the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). By implementing J-Voice solutions, carriers can migrate their traditional voice services onto cost-effective IP networks, with the flexibility to offer differentiated VoIP services according to customers' needs.

This includes preventing and responding to router failures, as well as dealing with disruptions caused by traffic congestion or failed links.
